Relief Society an International Women's Organization
Another reason that this is my favorite time of year, is because it is the annual General Relief Society Meeting of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. It is broadcast to all of the Relief Society women throughout the world, I always feel amazed when I think of all of the women all over the world doing the same thing at the same time. It truly is a wonderful organization of women and I am so thankful to be a part of it.
The messages that were shared were truly wonderful, so many good things. A few that really stuck out to me, is the purpose of Relief Society, the legacy of those who have gone before us, that we are all children of God and that he loves all of us no matter what stage of life we are in or what we have done with our lives, we all matter to Him, that visiting teaching is just the opportunity to go about the Lord's work here on earth, and many, many, more wonderful things. I am so thankful to have been able to see the support that is offered to the women of the church by our prophet Thomas S. Monson and his counselors Elder Eyring and Elder Uchtdorf. For some reason this stuck out to me so much more this time. I can't wait to read or listen to them again when they come out after General Conference sometime in a couple of weeks. It is going to be hard to wait that long.

Haircut

This is the result, he got a buzz cut. Just in time for school pictures in 2 weeks. I am just glad that it has taken 6.5 years for our first experience with children cutting their own hair. Silly boy, scissors are for paper.

Happy First Day of Fall
I love fall and all that goes with it! Today felt very fall-ish for here, we woke up to rain, and it rained almost all day long. I was so thankful that it stopped raining so that we could walk to pick up Jongr from school though and not repeat this mornings forever long trip to school. (It took us 25 mins. to drop him off and we only live 1/2 mile from the school.)
To celebrate fall today, I made beef stew and cornbread. I think that tomorrow I am going to make some pumpkin muffins. I have been wanting to since the first of September. I think now is the perfect time.
Happy FALL to you!

Cross the Street 5 times One way
Today on our walk to school to pick up Jongr, Jontu asked me how many times we have to cross the street before we get to Jongr's school. So we counted, it is no less than 5 times. That adds up to 10 times for a round trip and since Jontu, Jonev, and I walk that route roundtrip 2 times a day, it equals 20. That would make a good math story problem. LOL!
Today we also went and read a story in Jongr's classroom. We took Pirates Don't Change Diapers to read today, since it is National Talk Like a Pirate Day this Saturday. We didn't walk this time though, we drove or else the math problem could have read; If Jonsu and Jontu have to cross the street 5 times to get to the school, how many times did they cross the street today if they walked to the school and back 3 times? Anyone that is looking for a good story problem for their kids? Maybe we could come up with a few more.

a few of our creations
While Grant has been back to school, I have been able to get a few things done that have been on my list to finish up. Here are a few pics of what we have been up to this week while Jonev has been sleeping.
Two baby changing pads with a matching burp cloths for a couple of my friends. When folded it makes a pocket you can tuck diapers and a wipe case into.
My new purse, thanks to this tutorial. I have been wanting to make it for a couple of years. It is smaller than my other purse, I think that I am going to make a little bit bigger one for the times when I need to carry my stuff plus the kids things. But I love how it turned out. I appliqued the oak leaves on and then machine stitched over them the leaf veins. It was fun to make!Jontu gets quite creative with his lego building, today he wanted to recreate a picture that we took right after we moved here. Silly boy!
