oh what do you do in the summer time part 2

Jonli's blessing day
Building with marshmallows and straws, Jongr is building a bridge.
Jonev rocking out to the iPod, he loves to listen to music.
Jongr reading the Book of Mormon while being a good big brother and holding Jonli.
Jontu enjoying the beach with our good friend Janre (that's a good Jedi name too)

Jongr enjoying the day at the beach, he was happy to finally get to fly the kite he bought earlier this spring.
Jonev had as much fun in the water as out this trip.
The HUGE catapillar that ate our plants in one day!
Learning about Samuel the Lamanite from Elder Clegg.

oh what do you do in the summertime part 1

Saying goodbye to more missionaries leaving for home...we miss you Elder Page and Elder Heyn.
Jongr, Jontu, and Jonev taking a break on our walk.
Using the binoculars on the walk so that they didn't complain about going.
Celebrating Father's Day.

Feeding the ducks and nutria at the park by the temple.
Enjoying the park with our friends, Jontu and Jonev in the front.
Trying to build a single lego tower that could reach the ceiling with dad on a Sunday afternoon.

Happy Birthday Grandpa

Thanks for all of the fun memories this summer. We enjoyed camping at Palisades Creek and going on a hike with Uncle David, Uncle Richard, Aunt Jessica, Grandma, mom, dad, Lindy, and Evan.
Getting to see a mountain goat along the trail.
A picnic and fishing at the Park even if we didn't catch anything. We got to share some memories and...
some licorice.
We love you Grandpa and are happy to celebrate you today!

Goodbye to Summer

This is the last photo that we took on our summer vacation this year. It is the same rest stop that we took a picture at 2.5 years ago on our way from Mesa to Houston. I am so glad that we found it again and that I now know which mile it is at along the route east on I-10, it is a lovely little rest area that is extremely well kept. The people that take care of it were even mopping the tile outside of the bathrooms, I know because I saw them do it! I even thanked them for keeping it so clean.
I get a little emotional when I think about this rest stop, I don't know for sure why but I have latched onto it. Maybe it is because the shelters look like giant hand cart beds and I felt a little bit like the pioneers starting over in a new place when I first stopped there. Maybe it is because it represents that there is a long journey between me and my loved ones. I haven't found the reason for sure, that may take some time for sure, but for now I know that I love the wagon wheels and that we now have 2 pictures here and a new tradition to follow when driving along this stretch of Interstate.
Tomorrow is the start of a new school year. I promise to post some highlight pics from the summer and to start again regularly here.
